What are Lash Extensions?

Eyelash Extensions are a popular service and product that lengthens and thickens your natural eyelashes. Lash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each eyelash one at a time for a natural, flawless, beautiful look. Because of this application, your lashes will look and feel completely real. Everyone will think that you were born with beautiful, fabulous lashes. 

Eyelash Extensions are weightless, resistant to water, showering, sweat, exercise, tears, sleeping, and swimming. They are perfect for special occasions, as well as for everyday wear.

How long do they last?

Eyelash Extensions are SEMI-PERMANENT. They will last up to 2 months, but you WILL need fills between that time to replace any eyelashes that might have been shed. When applied correctly, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes, shedding with your natural eyelashes. Your natural eyelashes are shed every 45 – 60 days and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Everyone's experience will differ based on proper care and your eyelash growth cycle rate, but overall touchups/fills should only be required every 2 to 3 weeks. Other factors such as exposure to steam or constant touching of your eyes (your hands have natural oils) may cause the extensions to fall out sooner. A simple rule of thumb: proper care of your lash extensions will extend their longevity and beauty.

How long will it take to apply the Eyelash Extensions and how is it done?

The application process for lash extensions normally takes anywhere from 90 min. to 2 hours with someone who is experienced. First, you will fill out a consultation form and have any questions/concerns answered by the licensed Cosmetologist/Esthetician (It is illegal in the state of Georgia to apply Eyelash Extensions without a Master Cosmetologist/Esthetician License). You will then lay comfortably on a massage or facial table with your eyes closed and an under-eye gel pad will be applied to cover your lower lashes. Then the extensions will be applied to each individual eyelash while you relax.

Are Eyelash Extensions Safe? Do they hurt?

Eyelash Extensions are completely safe and painless. In fact, this procedure is so relaxing and comfortable that most clients fall asleep. You should only let a trained, LICENSED (required in the state of Georgia) professional apply your Eyelash Extensions. Unprofessional application or self-application may cause eye injury or clumpy, unnatural looking lashes. Extensions are applied one lash at a time to your individual natural eyelashes to achieve long, thick, and natural looking eyelashes. The procedure involves bonding the synthetic extension to your own natural eyelashes, and neither the extension nor the bonding agent ever touches the skin.

Classic Lashes

Classic Lashes are the most common type of eyelash extension. They are used for a more traditional, natural lash looks. One lash is added to each natural lash. It's great for making a simple and unpretentious appearance, especially if you don't want to look flashy.

Hybrid Lashes

Hybrid Lashes provide natural looks with added volume. While Classic Lashes offer a natural look and Volume Lashes take your look to high drama, Hybrid Lashes are the in-between look. Suppose a client has thin natural lashes and wants dramatic lashes. In that case, a hybrid style is ideal for leveling the gaps in their natural lash line because classic wouldn't wow.

Volume Lashes

Volume Lashes are sophisticated and guarantee dramatic looks to the wearer. The style gives a young and youthful appearance to your eyes. Volume eyelash extensions use 2 to 5 extensions per natural lash in a "volume fan." Depending on the fans used, it could be a volume fan or a mega volume fan. Typically, a volume lash uses 2 to 5 extensions per fan, while a mega volume fan uses 6 to 16 artificial lashes. Volume lashes are an advanced technique of eyelash extension. Having a perfect look with volume lashes takes great skill and expertise.
